Last year saw Gianluca give a performance for the big television event "The
Silk Road" (which aired on Chinese television and Italy’s main channel, Rai
1). The music gave voice to the ancient Italian traditions and those of
China, resulting in a beautiful blending of the cultures. With this
performance Gianluca and his colleague were awarded China’s most
prestitgious prize for opera singers.
As an operatic singer, Paganelli was asked to sing the protagonist of
Bizet's Carmen, both in England and in Spain. This was followed by the role
of Alfredo in Verdi's La Traviata in his homeland of Italy and in Scotland,
last year, he performed the role of Rodolfo in Puccini's La Boheme.
He is often called upon to make recordings why important musicians have
turned to him to engrave classic example of the bel canto repertoire and
opera to those of traditional Neapolitan crossover, the pop song of author,
to the sacred repertoire of modern and old.
Paganelli has been a great interpreter of Valerian. He made a recording of
refined sacred work: "Cecilia" Licinio Refice, which was sponsored by the
city of Rome where he then gave the debut, in the auditorium conservatory.
"Licinio Refice" marked the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the author
and the recording received important awards. Other interpreters of the
composer are tenor Begnamino Gigli, and also of the great soprano Renata
Tebaldi and Renata Scotto.
In addition, the voice of Paganelli is often used in film music. He also
appears as tenor soloist in the concert scene in the 2006 award-winning
film "My Brother Is an Only Child" by Daniele Lucchetti.

Gianluca Paganelli has not just the most gorgeous vocal talent but the looks to match, which is fitting as his new album is set to revolutionise the way we listen to perhaps the most passionate of all musical styles, the Tango, when it is released in October 2011.
With a classical background honed in his homeland of Italy, Gianluca has already very much made a name for himself in the birthplace of opera with successful releases to date as well as TV appearances and roles in movies as well. His Valentino good looks have made him a focus for the media especially the female media but even though this has brought him unavoidable attention, it is his voice and his ability to perform at the highest level that has marked him down as a new star on the horizon. |

His decision to create an album of classic interpretations revolving round the style of the Tango is revolutionary, given that the musical style born on the streets of Buenos Aires has always held a mystical quality in many people's hearts, to some this may seem sacrilege, but once they hear Gianluca’s sensual interpretation of Carlos Gardel’s Tango classic "Por Una Cabeza" and 'No Other Love' made famous by Perry Como, their hearts melt. Add to that one of the legendary songs that experts consider marked the starting point of the Tango, 'Jalousie', along with 'Spanish Eyes' made famous by Al Martino, and Gianluca is set to turn the British public on to the beauty and not to mention the sexiness of The Tango - so watch out, because leading into the album release in October 2011 and sponsored on ITv by Len Goodman.
He has also toured with several national musicals and won international competitions, such as 'Mettiamoci all'opera' and 'I raccomandati' on Rai1. He has also toured with classical crossover sensation Hayley Westenra.
